Something in the Way

Last semester I took a book making class. It was really an enjoyable process, and I got a lot out of it. Having the opportunity to make a hand-made book was invaluable. Its not an easy process at all. I used a stiff leaf structure and a decorative paper cover. The work in the book consists of the images and that will be included in my thesis.

The book is titled Something in the Way. I'm still producing some of the work through the summer, but the majority of the body of work is complete. Editing for the book was very useful. I will be starting on my thesis writing over the summer. There are probably about 45-50 images that will be in my show this fall. I feel the book I made, though a one of a kind, and a precious object in its own right, would also be well suited as a traditional published book because of the content. My goal is to begin to show the work and get feedback about its viability as a book and find out if I can make that happen.
