Portraits
I wanted to do a series of 4x5 portraits of my daughter, wife and myself since I've been creating this body of work with family as subjects. For some reason a lamp got turned on when I made my daughter's picture, so there's a color cast I can't get rid of. I'll order more film and retake hers. I was able to at least convert it to black and white, but they need to all be in color. She was so patient sitting there while I fiddled with things to take the picture. Its not easy for a kid to do that, I can't keep still myself.
Looking at the ones I have got me wanting to retake them all with some subtle changes. The view camera can be tricky and you have to be so deliberate in what you want it to do. Its not very efficient to keep experimenting with expensive 4x5 film, but I really want to get what I'm after.

Weekend
These photos were made last weekend at friends Brian and Nora's house. Although I made a few pictures of Nora, they don't appear because she is so difficult to photograph that I've almost given up trying. I'm beginning to suspect it may be deliberate, but apparently she's always made unusual expressions at the moment the shutter opens.

Nail File
After a few weeks of not much production, I've finally finished a few rolls. Next week I'll have some 4x5 negatives back from the lab. There have been a couple of images that I've felt have been successful, so I posted one. Its never been my style to shoot a lot, my output is usually where it needs to be, but I'm conservative with the number of photographs I take. Sometimes I find it helpful to shoot what I typically wouldn't just to get to where I need to be.

Ahleuchatistas Album Art
The Ahleuchatistas have a new album out entitled Location Location. I'm happy to have been asked to take the photography for the album art. They were willing to include several photos for the cd booklet, which has a nice design, and allows the photographs to work on their own as full reproductions. Its really nice to be able to work on a project where the design and product is quality. The album can be ordered from Open Letter Records.

Titling these things is kind of annoying. But without a post title, you can't click on the individual entry. Or so it seems. Maybe you can and I simply don't know how. I just wanted to add something new, which is basically all I do. But then it gets redundant writing "New Work" or some version of that. Or titling an individual image. That's the worst. What's the solution? Possibly just titling the post with some symbol? Then I'll run out of symbols. Anyway, this is a self-portrait, disposable camera pic.
